NEWLY-FORMED NONPROFIT SPEAKERS BUREAU, GIRLSPRING INC, STAGES ITS PREMIER EVENT

“INSPIRATION STATION” AIMED AT INSPIRING GIRLS AND YOUNG WOMEN (AGES 9-21) ON MARCH 3, 2012

GirlSpring, Inc., a new Birmingham-based nonprofit, founded by Birmingham Activist & Philanthropist, Jane Stephens Comer, is presenting its Premier “Inspiration Station” event on Saturday March 3rd, 2012 at B&A Warehouse in Birmingham from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.. GirlSpring Inc. focuses on issues, activities, concerns of girls and young women, ages 9-21 in Alabama.

In this day-long educational gathering, Mothers AND their Daughters are invited to attend along with Mentors, Grannies and Aunties. The session seeks to educate and demonstrate good nutrition and exercise.

 Among the featured speakers:

Nationally-recognized teacher of Transcendental Meditation, Prudence Bruns, PhD., speaks on the benefits of diving deep within yourself. Bruns is the subject and inspiration of “Dear Prudence,” a popular song by “The Beatles,” and is actress Mia Farrow’s sister. In the famous song, John Lennon sings, "The sun is up, the sky is blue, it's beautiful, and so are you.” Bruns will talk about her experience in India with “The Beatles.” The group will divide in two so that Bruns can address the adults about the benefits of meditation. Meanwhile the secrets of proper etiquette will be revealed to the girls and young women by expert Elizabeth Sinnott. This Seagrove, Florida-based expert specializes in table etiquette, manners, poise and telephone articulation.

Nationally-recognized, famously-passionate organic nutrition Inspirationists, Jenifer Kuntz, owner of Raw & Juicy Organic Juice Bar, Seaside, Florida, leaves her well-known silver, aerodynamic AirStream travel-trailer for her first-ever public appearance in Birmingham, where she will share healthy “do it yourself” recipes with hands-on cooking demonstrations. Fitness Inspirationists and Birmingham-based entrepreneurs Leigh Karagas (pronounced “Courageous”) and Paula Windle, founders of Every Girl Fitness, EveryGirlFitness.com, offer affordable, accessible and fun group exercise programs. Karagas and Windle operate 7 Mountain Brook and Vestavia fitness programs for women of all ages and fitness levels.

·         This event marks GirlSpring’s first ever Inspiration Station event in Birmingham.  

·         The event will be at B & A Warehouse, at 1531 1^st Ave. South, Birmingham. Doors open at 9 a.m..

·         The session includes a meal and a snack.
